How about Steve Martin!? His banjo-off and speak-off with Colbert last week made me weep with laughter.
He has a grammy nomination for reading his book, and has a bluegrass CD out?! Don't get much more nerdier then that.
I second Greg Grunberg! God I love that man!
Stephen Fry: Comic genius, techno-geek extraordinaire, environmentalist, author, and Lord Mayor of Twittertown.
I'll go with Grunberg!
I would like to preemptively nominate Ron Moore and David Eick for March. Its the end of BSG and they are very nerdy, attractive and generally full of win. Srsly. Watch the video blogs or listen to the podcasts, totally nerdy and awesome.
I'd second Ron Moore and toss Rainn Wilson's hat into the ring.
Stephen Fry all the way for me!
My second vote would be for Greg Grunberg.
Ohhh, the top gear guys! My husband(major car nerd) is in love with those guys.
How about one (or all!) of the Mythbusters guys?
I vote for Stephen Fry or Greg Grunberg. Ooh, how about Jeremy Davies?? Daniel Faraday has been an awesome nerdy man this season on Lost!
I'll second The Men of Top Gear!
How about a true geek, not an actor a la Pete Cashmore... drool.
Darnit. I always pipe up with the lone vote for Richard Ayoade, but I think I'm going to have to go along with the Stephen Fry crowd this time.
Everyone must YouTube his quiz series QI!
I'll second Jeremy Davies, aside from being absolutely adorable he studied physics to prepare for his role on Lost. In fact he's shown geek levels of devotion for all of his acting project...if I remember correctly he wrote a letter to Lars Von Trier in hopes of just being able to study under him (he landed a part in Dogville for his efforts.) He's fanboy and a cutie!
My alarming Davies devotion aside, Grunberg would be an awesome pick to.
Robert Llewellyn
Girl, I was using the word geekily about seven years ago.
I probably have dated documents somewhere to prove it.
Michele: I think ASH already won it a few months ago?
I am too tired to think of suggestions. Top Gear sounds good. How about The Stig?
How about Ron D. Moore for giving us Battlestar Galactica? Sci fi that we can be proud of. That we can use to introduce non-sci fi nerds into our world.
Kevin Davies!
I would have to go with either Steve Martin or Stephen Fry, I can't decide which. Steve Martin was on The Muppet Show with his banjo (either 1st or 2nd season) and Stephen Fry kicks ass at the original Whose Line Is It Anyway?
I don't know. Guess I'll go back to lurking now.
I'm voting for Stephen Fry. His twitter updates make me smile---especially when he gets frustrated with people asking him the same question over & over again instead of googling it for themselves. And as typed this he "twittered" (is that a word?!) his current location on google maps. Awesome.
Stephen Fry all the way. :)
How about Randall Munroe, the programmer responsible for the webcomic xkcd? There are days when I think I love him more than Joss.
(Just SOME days, though.)
Barack Obama!
I vote for Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, author of Pluto Files and Death by Blackhole. He makes astrophysics sound way too much fun.
I'm all for Stephen Fry!
