- Ridley Scott is set to direct a movie based on...Monopoly. Yes, the game with the little dog and the hat and the exorbitant rental prices. Scott says it's going to be "Blade Runner"-esque, which I hope means we get to see Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer fighting over who gets to be the car.
- Thank you, HBO, for giving us some new fantasy goodness: an adaptation of "Game of Thrones" has been greenlit as a pilot.
- Sneak peak at the new Doctor Who Christmas special:
- And the funniest thing I saw all weekend -- Robot Chicken's Bob Goldstein, Jedi lawyer:
* Mostly because I haven't had a chance to watch the new Robot Chicken "Star Wars" special yet.

Pre-emptive apologies for the fact that my blog post looks like it was put together by a drunken sailor this morning. I'll try to fix it later today. Thanks!
oh Liz, thanks for the preview of the Doctor Who Christmas Special, I've missed my Doctor! And OMFG - LOVE the Jedi Lawyer!!! HAHAHAHAHA
AHHHHH !!!!!! More Xmas special!!!!
Will they broadcast this in the States any time near Xmas?
Has Sci-Fi run the other Xmas specials??
My gods, he is a cute boy isn't he?
Shouldn't he recognize his prior incarnation?
Well, I guess that's the hook ;)
SFG, I think that doctor is a fake doctor -- did you notice his screwdriver is an actual screwdriver? And his sidekick is named Rosita? I did like that they both said "Allonsy!"
Crone51, yes indeed, he is a very cute boy. Seriously, I've turned into a 14 year old girl since I started watching this show. I wish I had a locker so I could pin his picture up in it. :)
I watched that on Youtube last night! At first I was baffled, but now I think it must be some sort of... play... rehersal... thing? It makes sense in the recesses of my brain, at least.
To crone51 - yes, Sci-Fi runs the Christmas Specials too. Usually it's the first episode when they start the new season on Sci-Fi. Unfortunately, it's not anywhere NEAR Christmas...
A few of us have several running theories that this is some kind of fake "doctor" and we can't wait to see how this plays out in the full ep!
Ah...but I won't be able to see it at or near Xmas without the magic of illegal downloading. This makes me sad.
I suppose I could always move to the ancestral ( well mostly) homeland...
Glad to see Our Hostess has become a raving Whovian. It's such a delicious addiction...like chocolate only not as fattening.
Me? A raving Whovian? Just because all I can think about is how I want my work day to end so I can go home, sit on the couch, watch Doctor Who and download the theme song as my ring tone? And then call myself over and over again to hear it play?
Nah, I haven't caught the bug at all. ;)
Liz - Do you find the theme popping up in your head at inappropriate times? When I first got addicted, I swear everywhere I went I was thinking "dwooo-ah-whoooo..." Well, that interspersed with the occasional quote.
Agent57, yes, that's been happening to me all the time! I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I really love that theme song, though, so I'm kind of comforted when it pops into my head...especially during meetings. Now if only a Tardis would appear during those meetings....
