Here's a very good interview with Smith and also with David Tennant, who I initially thought was in his jammies but that just turned out to be wishful thinking, talking about being The Doctor. Smith seems like a very charming young man and I'm sure he'll be a great Doctor. Of course, I still refuse to believe Ten is leaving... ETA: Forgot to include this article on possible new companions for Eleven. Lily Allen? Really?+ The lyrics for the musical commentary for the musical Dr. Horrible are up and available on the Dr. Horrible website. Personally, I think all letters and e-mails sent to the Whedons commenting on the commentary should be in musical form, just to boast the meta content a bit more.
+ I like this story just for the title alone -- Top Ten Things Launched Into Space In 2008 -- from Wired. Look at these cute but very, very hardy little microbes that got rocketed into the great beyond to see how long they lasted in harsh conditions. The tardigrades, as they're called, did quite well, thank you very much. 'Course, that doesn't negate the fact that they look like the Michelin Man mated with a manatee:
+ An article on Wired's Sexiest Geeks of 2008, as voted by many, many apparently delusional male readers...who also like Stephen Colbert? Anyway, kind of a weird list to me but to each their own. At least a Deschanel sister made the cut.
+ SciFi.com has a new clip up from the Caprica pilot. Here it is at Galactica Sitrep. Speaking of Galactica, woo hooooo, only 11 more days 'til the big show. There's been tons of spoilers swirling around out there about the ending, but I'm keeping my eyes firmly closed. And here's a compelling argument from the Chicago Tribune's Maureen Ryan, who has seen the season 4.5 premiere, on why ignorance is going to be tres bliss come Jan. 16.

After being so drawn into Tennant's performance, it's hard to imagine that *anyone* could make a good successor...and then I remember thinking that Barty Crouch Jr. could *never* follow Christopher Eccleston. Now that I've seen heard Smith talk about becoming the Doctor, I'm definitely feeling good about the #11.
He does look super young, but he has the mischievous look. Where are his eyebrows?
Anyhow, Battlestar! Battlestar! Battlestar! I can't even watch the webisodes cus I don't want to get all riled up and impatient. The clock needs to tick faster!
I bet my s.o. single-handedly got Alyson Hannigan onto that Wired list...
I hope to hell they DO NOT cast Lily Allen! I will definitely NOT watch the show with her as companion. Bad enough 11 looks like a flippin' 15 year old member of a boy band (how am I supposed to believe he's over 900??!!)
At first I was like "whaaa?", but seeing him talk makes me feel a little better about it. I am glad that they went with someone completely obscure. I just hope that he's different enough, you know? (He's kind of got the crazy hair going on.)
Now I'm just like "Oooh, what'll the outfit be?" God, I love the brown pinstripe... I'm going to miss it most of all. :)

I am living for BSG's return and trying so hard to avoid spoilers but alas, I am a spoiler whore of some note. So far I am more or less unspoiled. I think. Is there going to be some sort of Park Bench live chat after the ep is aired? That would be very fine. I will need support beyond that which my similarly obsessed husband and daughter give me.
Damn. What if we get hit by an asteroid before the 16th?
Crone, that's so funny. I honestly have spent time worrying that something terrible will happen to prevent me from seeing the premiere.
And yes, we should absolutely have a Park Bench get together after the premiere. That's a great idea! I have a feeling we're all going to need to talk each other down.
