+ The publicity machine is in high-gear for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." We've got an early review of the new film as well as a preview from a new HBO special with plenty of behind the scenes glimpses:
+ Hitting the beach anytime soon? This handy list of "The 50 Best Summer Reads" might help. If nothing else, it explained to me what the plot of Salinger's "Raise High the Roofbeam, Carpenters" is, something I've never been able to figure out by, you know, actually reading the novella three times.
+ I'm done decrying the recent surfeit of crappy Hollywood remakes and have decided instead to simply embrace them. With that in mind, I have great news for everyone! Yes, your fondest wishes have come true. Let's all line up now outside our local movie theaters because, sweet fancy Moses, we will soon be treated to a big-screen version of...wait for it...T.J. Hooker! I know, I know, it was hard for me to stop crying too. Just think how much better those "hanging onto the hood of the car" moments are going to be now that we have CGI. Awesome!
+ Speaking of remakes, Ain't It Cool has a review of an early draft of the "Tron" script.
+ Lost hope in movies with that "T.J. Hooker" news? Why not try some museums then? Wired' Geek Dad blog has their list of their five favorite interactive museums. I can personally vouch for the International Spy Museum has great activities for adults as well as a fabulous gift shop filled with every secret agent gizmo or piece of memorabilia you could ever want.

TJ Hooker? If you remember the Charlie's Angels movie, they made a joke in it of having a TJ Hooker movie!
Dreams really do come true! :)
I think that the cheese factor of the hanging on the hood moments are what made the show watchable. If it wasn't for the three C's (cliche, cheese and camp) the show, and most of the 70's and 80's shows would be unwatchable. A movie is going to miss those things, or do them badly using actors that are trendy but don't necessarily suit the roles. This Hollywood bastardization of old classics has to stop!
So is Chris Pine playing T. J. Hooker?
T.J. what?
Oh Harry, there you are!
