+ Although these rumors have been circulating for a while, they somehow seem more valid coming from Wired, which is saying that David Tennant and Russell T. Davies are making their Comic-Con debut in order to announce a Doctor Who feature film. Please turn away while I do a carefully choreographed happy dance featuring elaborate costumes and twirling.
+ It looks like rumors of a live-action "Star Wars" TV show might actually be true with reports surfacing that it will be shot in Australia and apparently have at least a few Australian writers. Ten bucks this mean Ewoks will be replaced by koalas.
+ Speaking of good news, it looks like former Nerd Man of the Month Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting this year's Emmy Awards in September. I like how Ain't It Cool refers to him as "Starship Troopers' Neil Patrick Harris..." I've got to watch that movie again some day.
+ You know how romantic movies sweep you up into the story but then when you look back on it later, you think, "Wow, why would Rhett Butler even give Scarlett the time of day?" Exactly! That's why I've enjoyed this ongoing series of polls determining which terrible movie boyfriends and girlfriends are the worst. It's fun!
+ And just a heads up to all the ladies out there -- Lifetime has a special treat for us this weekend. Yes, it's the "Hot and Steamy 4th Marathon." Trust me, I checked out the roster of flicks and you won't want to miss "Abducted" which chronicles the life of Melanie whose marriage to a prison warden is about to become a nightmare...until she finds solace in one of his prisoners or "Student Seduction" about Christie who "always wanted to be the 'cool' teacher." Oh Lifetime, you crack me up. I'm sure America's Founding Fathers would be proud!
Stop back later this afternoon for a word from The Modern Gal, our guest blogger. In the meantime, Happy pre-Fourth of July everyone! Enjoy!
