- 10 Geeky Movies to Raise Your Kids On [Wired's GeekDad blog] - Does everyone but me love "The Goonies?" The Coreys gave me the squicks even as a child.
- Hayao Miyazaki on hand-drawn animation versus computer animation [Yahoo News] - "Howl's Moving Castle" by Pixar? "Kiki's Delivery Service" by Disney? Never! Keep on drawing, please, Mr. Miyazaki.
- "Battlestar Galactica" season 4.5 delayed until April? [Galactica Sitrep] - I hate you, Sci-Fi Channel, and no amount of blissfully cheesy "Mansquito" films will change that.
- "Magical" mirror changes fabric appearance instantly... [Gizmodo] - Why? I have no clue but it is incredibly weird to see. You have to check out the video.
- Google's new browser 'Chrome' debuts today. [CNET] - And you can read about it in a comic book...in which the Dark Knights browses for McCain-Palin fan fiction. Eww.

Yes. You're the only person in the world who doesn't like Goonies. /isolating tactics
No, Liz, you're not alone (although it may just wind up being the two of us). There are a lot of stupid flicks that I have an adolescent attachment to, but The Goonies certainly isn't one of them. I never understood the appreciation.
I'm not a fan of the Goonies either.
I was surprised that Real Genius didn't make the list -- when I was a proto-geek, I lived for finding an early-entrance program like that. When I visited Simon's Rock and PEG at Mary Baldwin College in high school, there were no lasers or steam tunnels.
Now every time I make popcorn on the stovetop, I hear "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" while it's popping.
Chalk up another anti-Goonies. Even if I was 24 when it was released.
OOOOHHHH, Real Genius!!!!! Love, love, love.
I'm so glad I'm not the only non-Goonies fan in the world. We should start a club!
Our kid is going to watch goonies with just me then. GOONIES IS THE BEST AND YOU ARE ALL WRONG! WRONG!
Not a Goonies fan, though I know a lot of people who are. I generally just change the subject whenever it comes up.
I *love* Real Genius, however.
